The Rocking Robins started as an elementary team, created in 2007, which was a new venture for Nottingham Synchronized Skating Academy. Forming one of our first teams for the Elementary Category and with lots of hard work, the team competed in their first ever competition at Dumfries (2007) - after just a few months of skating together.  The team displayed their potential and was placed in 6th position out of 9 teams.  They danced to the lively ‘Hot Hot Hot’, which they also went on to use in Sheffield, March 2008, where they came an impressive 7th at Synchro’s largest competition yet in the UK!   The Rocking Robins skated to a new programme in 2008, with great new music and stunning costumes. Their hard work and commitment led them to success at the Scottish Open and Altrincham Open winning Gold medals at each competition.  At the end of 2008, the team proceeded to Preliminary level.

2009/2010

Now skating at Preliminary level, the team are working on a new routine, guaranteed to exceed all previous accomplishments.  They train most Thursdays at the NIC, on and off ice, and are looking forward to the forthcoming season.  The team have lots of fun together on and off the ice, which results in their lively team spirit and dedication within the club, which is second to none.  The Rocking Robins are managed by Mandy, who is dedicated not only to supporting the team in their achievements but also supports 'youth in the community'.  Mandy enjoys working with the skaters and could not imagine life without the high spirits of NSSA!
